Film lovers – It’s back for the fourth year! The festival’s fabulous evening of short-films comes to The Riverbank Stage on the Lower Riverbank of Stiggants Reserve.

About 20 short films from different genres will be screened, including Dia Taylor’s Blue, Lachlan Stephen’s Fallout and locally made film Sync or Swim. MCs are Australian actor and comedian Peter D Flaherty and actor Luke Toniolo.  

Prizes proudly sponsored by Riverside Market, Australia Online, TerryWhite Chemmart, Now and Not Yet Café, Ember, Ozflix, Palace Films and Cocoa Moon – will be awarded to the most popular films. This event is brought to you by Warrandyte Festival and Striking Productions.

Location: Upper Reserve (Ducks must be returned to Upper Reserve by noon on Saturday to enter Best Dressed Duck Competition.)

Info: One of the most colourful spectacles of the festival, this fabulous display of creatively decorated ducks is brought to you by local school and kindergarten children. This year, festival monarchs have the almost impossible job of choosing the competition’s best dressed ducks. Winners announced on Saturday’s Main Stage around noon. Specquackular!

Did you know that the first recorded official discovery of gold in Victoria was at Warrandyte, alongside one in the Pyrenees, both declared on 16 July 1851? (Source: Warrandyte Historical Society). Since 1978, the Hanson family has been shining a light on the history and workings of an 1850s gold mine. Full of interesting nuggets about Warrandyte’s founding gold miners. Time: 2.00pm – 3.30pm Location: Meet at 104 Webb Street, Warrandyte (State Park) The tour is hosted by Warrandyte Uniting Church. Donation to ‘Walk Against Want’ appreciated. Time: 2.30pm Location: Yarra River Ducks launch from the bottom of Police Street. Get along to the bottom of Stiggant Street and cheer the race winner home! Info: Once again, this iconic event sees plastic ducks battling for the glory of making it first to the finish line. Will yours be the Duck of the Day?
